evaporative cooling

Evaporative cooling is the healthiest way to cool your home because it replaces stale old air with clean fresh air many times an hour - remember, you keep your doors and windows open.

The air inside your home is never re-circulated which means smells and airborne germs are expelled.

Your system will need to be sized accordingly to the area in which needs to be cooled by one of our experts, this will prolong the effectiveness in South Africas' extreme heat conditions.

But why just benefit from evaporative cooling during summer? Simply turn on your fan and you can remove stale air from your home in the middle of winter, too.

Key Points

  • Cool air flows through outlets into every room you want cooled.

  • Warm air is cooled naturally with water - just like a sea breeze.

  • Evaporative cooling is safer for the environment because it uses no CFCs and uses only a little power.

  • Evaporative cooling completely replaces the stale air inside your home with fresh air.

Ducted Evaporative Cooling

Whole House Cooling!

During the summer months, everyone wants their living area cool throughout the day and their bedrooms cool at night. There are several options which make this possible.

Split refrigeration systems perform this task by cooling only the rooms they are placed in. Ducted evaporative cooling, on the other hand, can provide whole house cooling through a network of outlets located in the ceiling.

Doors open or closed?

Unlike refrigerated cooling which requires you to keep doors and windows closed to maintain a cooler temperature, evaporative cooling requires you to leave your doors and windows open.

This is great news if you have children who are constantly running in and out of the house!

Installing Evaporative Cooling will provide a very cost effective solution for cooling your whole home or office. The basis of this style of cooling is to allow dry outside air to be drawn into the home through the unit on the roof and to flow gently into the home and out of the open doors and windows. Evaporative Cooling operates at its full potential when the air is hot and dry outside, therefore humid conditions will give a lower performance for this particular system.

Watch the video on how it works!

How it works

Evaporative coolers cool the air by filtering hot air outside through moist pads on all sides of the unit which are kept wet via a small water pump inside. The water evaporates into the air and is then forced down into the ducts and grills running inside the roof space to each room. The pressure created from the cool air being forced into the room pushes out old air via open windows or doors. This process ensures fresh cool air is being constantly cycled through the room. You can control the way air flows in the house by opening or closing certain doors or windows, it is very important to have an amount of windows/doors open at all times when the evaporative cooling system is operating.

Your whole home/office will be cooled instead of the alternative of cooling particular rooms. One of the most important choices to make when deciding to cool your home/office, is to discuss whether you need to have your whole area cooled or have separate rooms cooled at a time.
